Setting the Free Period for a Product

By enabling the free period for a product, the system will not charge the period between the start date of the subscription and the first billing date. For enabling this option, you must do the following:

Setting the Free Period for a New Product


In the new product form, enable the option Free Period in the Pricing section. This field is available only for the recurring products, both for add-ons and primary products.

Settings the Free Period for an Existing Product


  1. Open product's details page in Cloud BSS
  2. Select Edit Recurring Charges from the Pricing section
  3. In pop-up. check the Free Period checkbox
  4. Save the changes

How a Subscription for a Product with Free Period Enabled in Billed


The period between the start date of the subscription and the first billing date for this subscription is free, regardless of how many licenses the customer has purchased during this period. This means that every extra licenses the customer will purchase during the free period will be provided free of charge. 

The free period is applied per subscription. This means that if a customer has a second subscription for the same product, the free period will be applied to the second subscription too. For the free period, the system generates an invoice item with zero charges.

After the first billing period, all licenses and any extra licenses the customer purchased will be charged in full.
