Prepare for Automatic Update of MS Cloud Services Catalogue

The automatic update of the catalogue is performed from the "Get Services Definition" action in Microsoft Cloud Services settings. But before running this action, you should do the following:

Define your Catalogue Language and the Countries you do Business

In BSS Setup in the Microsoft Cloud Services Settings there are the following fields:

  •  Catalog Language. Select in this field which language  the system to use for the names of the Microsoft plans and add-ons.  The list of the available language is the list of the languages Microsoft API supports.
  • Countries. The set of the available plans and add-ons my differ depending on the countries you are allowed to resell the Microsoft cloud services . By selecting the countries you do business, the system will bring only the plans and add-ons that you are allowed to sell to these countries under your CSP contract.

Specify the FX Rate for Currencies Which Are Not Officially Supported for NCE Plans

For currencies which are not officially supported by Microsoft, you need to specify the foreign exchange rate before running the catalog update process. Use this one of the following tools, depending on the product family.

Define a Default Billing Cycle

All the new products that will be imported in your Cloud BSS will be activated to the default billing cycle you have defined in setup. For checking the default billing cycle for the recurring products, go to BSS Setup > Products > Unit Groups and check which unit has the default option enabled. We suggest to set as default the month unit.

Define which Users can View the new Products

For the new products and add-ons the update process will add in your system, you must define which will be the responsible user for these products and which user or group of users can view / edit them.

For doing this, you must define in BSS Setup > Administration > System Options > Use of API Options  which will be the responsible user and which users / groups will be able to view the new products by defining a permission rule.

Check Setup of Permission Rules for more details how you can setup your permissions scheme.
