Understanding the Available Dropbox & Dropbox Sign Products
Dropbox offers 5 base-edition products. These editions are Standard, Advanced, Education, Business and Business Plus. Your customers can purchase three extra add-ons for most of the base-editions.
Our implementation combines the base-edition products with the extra features when purchasing Dropbox products for the first time. Otherwise, you can upgrade your existing base-edition products to the extra-featured Dropbox products that we offer. Consequently, the philosophy is that all licensed users enjoy the same functionality from those services. In the following sections of this page, you can find further analysis of the Dropbox services.
In addition to the Dropbox products, Dropbox Sign offers products in the same Service Manager.
Getting the Product Type for the Dropbox Services
The first step is to get the definition of Dropbox services. For doing this, you must run the "Get Services Definition" action on the Dropbox Service Manager instance settings page. This action will create the product types Dropbox Subscription and Dropbox Sign in your BSS along with their respective products and add-ons.
If you wish to check the results and/or logs of the Get Services Definition process, please check the 'Get Services Definition' Action - Non Microsoft page.
You are done creating the required Dropbox & Dropbox Sign Product Types and/or updating the Service Manager with the latest functionality.
Upon the "Get Services Definition" successful process completion, you can locate its product type in BSS > Setup > Billing > Products > Product Types.
Dropbox Products List
The tables below contain all the Dropbox products and their extra features, as well as add-ons for the Advanced Server editions. Trials are also available for most Dropbox products, as shown below. The list of products is split into four tables.
Dropbox Product Details
To view in BSS all the Dropbox products and add-ons, please go to BSS > Billing > Products module and select the "Advanced Search..." option located at the BSS's right menu of any page and create an advanced search on the pop-up window that appears, under the Conditions tab that looks like this:
Column Name: | Field Name | Operator | Value |
Values to enter: | Product Type | contains | Dropbox |
After entering all three values as depicted on the image, please click the Search & Close button located at the bottom of the pop-up window to initiate the search and view the results.
Each Dropbox product will have a number of common product characteristics, namely Base Subscription, Number of licensed users, Additional Storage (for Advanced Server Only), and License code for additional users.
Base Subscription: The available values are "Education", "Advanced Edition", "Advanced Server", and "Standard Edition".
Additional Storage (for Advanced Server Only): Is a single additional storage pack of either a "10 TB Add-On" or a"50 TB Add-On".
Extended Version History (not for Advanced Server): Is the technical characteristic of a Dropbox product that displays whether that product has the specific product feature or not. Its value is true/false.
Data Governance (not for Advanced Server): Is the technical characteristic of a Dropbox product that displays whether that product has the specific product feature or not. Its value is true/false.
Replay (not for Advanced Server): Is the technical characteristic of a Dropbox product that displays whether that product has the specific product feature or not. Its value is true/false.
Full cancellations, which terminate the service and trigger a prorated refund completely requires Dropbox operations help to migrate the team back to channel.
Publishing Dropbox Products & Product Groups in Storefront
You can publish Dropbox or Dropbox Sign products in your Storeftont either as distinct products or as products within a group (in case you want to offer a number of plans for the same service). In this section learn how to publish a Dropbox or Dropbox Sign product as well as a product group in Storefront. The method for configuring the Basic Storefront Settings of a product and a product group is the same as any other product and product group.
To publish a Product to your Storefront, please follow the steps described on the page "Publish to Storefront Basic Options".
To publish a Product Group to your Storefront, please follow the steps described on the page "Publish a Product Group in Storefront".
A guide on creating a product group can be found on the page "Managing Product Groups".
The Storefront Settings page of a product group is similar to that of a product. Check the page Define the Marketing Material of your Product for details. The only difference is that here there is an extra tab, concerning Editions.
Upgrade Paths & Mutually Exclusive Dropbox Products
During the Get Services Definition process, the upgrade paths for products are created, and mutually exclusive products are set automatically.
The following rules apply for Dropbox upgrades:
Dropbox allows immediate upgrades at any time within the current cycle by following the path Standard→Business→Advanced→Business Plus
Only upgrades between products with the same billing plan are possible for both Dropbox and Dropbox Sign subscriptions
e.g.: Dropbox Business, Annually Commitment - Annually Billed → Dropbox Business, Annually Commitment - Annually BilledSubscriptions can also be upgraded to the same plan (e.g. Business→Business) which contains any add-on of Extended Version History, Data Governance, Premium Support or Replay.
Dropbox executes upgrade/downgrade actions immediately, for this reason, it is strongly recommended to use only the current date as the effective date of an upgrade/downgrade request to avoid incorrect credit invoices.
The interworks.cloud Platform upgrades keep the same billing cycle. To create a new billing cycle for upgrades between different plans (e.g. Standard→Business) please perform the upgrade, then submit a ticket to our support team to have the billing cycle and invoices adjusted.
If a subscription contains the 1 TB storage pack add-on, it cannot be upgraded unless the add-on is cancelled.
Downgrades
For downgrades to Standard, Business, Advanced, Business Plus plans, the following rules apply:
Subscriptions can be downgraded to a lower plan, or to remove add-ons such as Extended Version History, Data Governance, Premium Support , Replay
Immediate downgrades can only be executed within 14 days
Outside the 14 day window, downgrades will be executed at the end of the billing period, and users are prevented from completing the downgrade.
It is strongly recommended not to make any changes to the automatically assigned upgrade paths, or change the mutually exclusive products. Doing so may cause problems during order execution.
Cancelling Dropbox Subscriptions
Immediate or specific date cancellations, full or partial, for all Dropbox and Dropbox Sign base plans are only allowed up to 14 days from the ordering date, or upon renewal (at the end of the billing cycle). A prorated refund invoice will be issued for approved cancellations.
A subscription can be cancelled:
Immediately
On a specific date (between the start date of the subscription and the current date)
At the end of the billing period (upon renewal)
Dropbox Sign
Dropbox Sign products, previously known as HelloSign feature billing plans/installments and are created by running Get Services Definition with the latest version of the Dropbox Service Manager. The Product Type is Dropbox Sign Subscription. Dropbox and Dropbox Sign products are not mutually exclusive.
Please note the following restrictions:
The premium plans can be sold with a 5 seat minimum (the Base SKU contains 5 licenses, the License SKU quantity should always be a minimum of 1).
The standard plans can be sold with a 2 seat minimum (the Base SKU contains 2 licenses, the License SKU quantity should always be a minimum of 1).
The SFDC, SFDC CPQ & Template Pack 15 addons have a 5-seat minimum purchase requirement.
A user can not have both SFDC and SFDC CPQ addons.
Add-Ons
Dropbox Sign add-on SKUs require a 1-1 quantity match with the subscription quantity amount. This means that any time a user orders Dropbox Sign licenses in the Storefront, they must also include an equal quantity increase of any add-ons contained in the same subscription. This includes quantity increases for existing subscriptions. Similarly, the quantity of add-ons cannot be changed without changing the subscription quantity.
In the Storefront, users must purchase the related add-on in an equal amount manually. In case of a difference in the quantity, a precheck mechanism will stop the order from execution and an error message will be displayed.
In the BSS, when increasing the quantity of a subscription, the quantity of any related add-ons will be increased automatically.
Additionally, note that decreasing the quantity of a DBOX subscription is allowed at the billing period.

Note that Upgrade/Downgrade between trials is not supported.
The following table contains a list of Dropbox Sign upgrade paths:

Please note that the user will be notified if an upgraded or downgraded subscription does not meet the minimum quantity requirements.
i.e. Upgrading from a standard Sign subscription (minimum quantity of 2) to a premium Sign plan (minimum quantity of 5) should always be a minimum of 5.
Dropbox Sign Cancellation
Fully or partially cancelling any Dropbox Sign base plan will also cancel any connected add-on(s). Dropbox Sign add-ons can be fully canceled within the 14-day cancellation window, however, they cannot be partially canceled individually because of they are required to have a 1:1 quantity match with the base plan.
