Blocking Scenarios for a Buyer Role to Complete the Checkout Process

A Buyer user will not be able to complete the checkout process if any of the following scenarios are present:

  • The basket total exceeds the customer’s available credit. In this scenario, payment must be added for increasing customer available credit. But only the Billing Agent can make a payment. If the Buyer decides to proceed, the order will be submitted but not executed.

  • Customer Billing Information is incomplete. This is the scenario where the customer hasn’t yet defined a billing address. The buyer cannot proceed with the checkout since he cannot update the billing address. Again, it can be done only from the Billing Agent.

  • The order must be paid using a new credit card. This is the scenario where the Payment step is present for the customer to pay using his credit card. The Buyer will be able to pay using an existing card, but he cannot add a new credit card (it can be done only from the Billing Agent). If the Buyer selects the “Add New Credit Card” action, he will receive the following warning.
