Managing the Storefront Users

In this page, we analyze both user types and everything related to their creation and the access rights of those Storefront user types from the perspective of the Admin Storefront user. For the administrator to manage the users, there is a dedicated new module called Storefront Access Control,

Users List

The first page of the Storefront Access Control module displays a list of the users:

  • Full Name: It is the first and last name of the Storefront user. The full name also functions as a hyperlink redirecting to the Storefront user's edit page.

  • Email: It is the Storefront user’s email.

  • Status: It is the Storefront user’s status, which can be one of the following three values:

    • Pending activation (Grey circle): This status means that an Email notification has been dispatched to the Storefront user for their activation. In this status, the user is enabled but not activated yet. For this status, the Resend activation link option is displayed under the three dots action button for resending the activation link if it expires.

    • Active (Green Circle): This status means that the Storefront user is activated, enabled, and has access to the Storefront. For this status, the Reset password option is displayed under the three dots action button for resetting the password in case the Storefront user has blocked it by providing it wrong for more than three consecutive times.

    • Inactive (Red Circle): This status means that the Storefront user has no access to Storefront, meaning that the user is no longer a Storefront user but just a BSS contact. The Reset password option or the Resend activation link option are not displayed for this status.

  • User Type: It is the Storefront user’s user type, either an Admin or a User.

  • User Role: it is the Storefront user’s role. Since every user can have more than one role, this column will display either the user’s role only in the case that the user has one user role or in case the user has more than one role, the column will display the value Multi-Role.

  • Action: The three-dots menu allows the Admin Storefront user to manage all the other Storefront users of that account/organization by utilizing the values: Edit, Reset password. If a user is on status Pending Activation, instead of the Reset password option, the Resent activation link option is displayed.

 Creating a New Storefront User

The admin Storefront user can create another user via the Storefront Access Control module. From the Storefront Access Control module page, the Admin Storefront user can click on the New User button to create a new user.

The Storefront user creation form appears on the following page, titled New User. The Admin user can fill in all the required User Information details on the respective fields, such as the user’s First Name and Last Name, the Email, and the preferred Localization Options. Afterward, the Admin user can choose the User Type of the Storefront user, under creation, by clicking on the respective radio button from under the User Permission Settings.

  • Admin User: An admin user must have the Admin user type selected. Consequently, all the required user roles are automatically enabled and assigned to that user. The user roles for the admins are not editable, since admins should always have all the user roles.

  • Simple User: A simple user has the User type selected. Consequently, all the user roles are automatically enabled and assigned to that simple user by default. All the Admin user has to do is assign the appropriate user roles to the simple user, under creation, based on the simple user’s work needs and eligibility.

The new user will receive an email to activate his account. This email will include the appropriate activation link, depending on the login options you have activated for your Storefront. Until the user completes the activation process, his status will be Pending Activation.

Managing Users in Storefront

The admin users from the Storefront Access Control module can edit and manage other Storefront users.

Editing a Storefront User

Once the Admin Storefront user clicks on either the Edit option from the three-dots action button or on the name of the Storefront user, the Admin user is redirected to the edit page of that user.

If the user, under edit, is an Admin user, then the following three actions are available:

  • Enable or Disable the user as a Storefront user by clicking on the toggle button next to the user’s name.

  • Change the user’s User Type by clicking on one of the predefined radio buttons.

If the user, under edit, is a Simple user, then the following three actions are available:

  • Enable or Disable the user as a Storefront user by clicking on the toggle button next to the user’s name.

  • Change the user’s User Type by clicking on one of the predefined radio buttons.

  • Change the user’s User Roles by activating or deactivation the respective toggle buttons.

Only the Email address of the user is not editable.
After the changes have been completed, the Admin user must click on the Save button to apply the changes.

Resetting a Storefront User’s Password (for Local Logins only)

The Reset password option will activate the reset password process that is now available through the Forgot my password button on the login page of the Storefront. In essence, the Storefront user will receive an email to reset their password.

The Reset password option will be available only if the user is using the local login option. It will not be available if the user is using an external identity provider for accessing your Storefront.

The Resend activation link option is available only when a Storefront user is on pending activation. If the activation link has expired, the admin user can click this option and dispatch to the Storefront user an email with a new valid activation link to complete the activation.
