Set Extra Charge for NCE subscriptions with Billing Plans (Installments)

With this release, CSPs can utilize a new pricing scheme of interworks.cloud called Billing Plans Extra Charge. This new pricing scheme allows CSPs to set an Extra Charge (markup percentage) to the unit price of subscriptions that will be purchased with Billing Plans (monthly installments) by the specific customer. Thus, If a BSS account has a Billing Plan Extra Charge defined, then a subscription with a Billing Plan will have that uplift percentage applied to its unit price, and therefore it will be more expensive than a similar subscription without a Billing Plan.

With this Extra Charge Billing scheme, CSPs can:

  • Provide to their customers services and subscriptions with the flexibility of installments while reducing the risks that might derive from idle payments of those installment plans in the future.

  • Enjoy the extra profit from each purchased subscription that has a Billing Plan with a defined Extra Charge.

Some indicative features and actions of the Billing Plans Extra Charge are the following:

  • The Billing Plans Extra Charge field inside the BSS account page can be configured directly by a BSS user who wishes to alter the Extra Charge percentage for that account.

     

  • A bulk action called Manage Billing Plans Extra Charge is available inside the Accounts list page in BSS for configuring the percentage of the Billing Plans Extra Charge field of multiple BSS accounts.

  • In BSS and Storefront, all orders and subscriptions of an account with a Billing Plan have the Extra Charge markup applied to the displaying unit prices and totals.

  • Five API (GET) calls can retrieve the Extra Charge (Markup) percentage from orders, subscriptions, and installment plans.

Retry Button for the NCE Migration Tool

In the NCE Migration Tool, once a migration error occurs during the creation of the BSS order, and after one hour that the order does not get successfully executed, a Retry button becomes accessible and allows only the BSS user (Distributor) to retry to re-execute the BSS order, the same day, in order to finish the creation of the NCE subscription.

Storefront “Basic” Template Available Only to Existing Customers

This release makes the Basic Storefront template available only to existing customers. New Storefront customers will not have the choice of the two Storefront templates since only the Nebula template will be available to them from this release onwards.
Essentially, this deprecation means that:

  • New customers can only use the Nebula Storefront template without having the option to change the template back to the Basic, since this option is removed.

  • Existing customers with the Basic Storefront template, as default, can continue to use it and customize it. They can change their template to the newer Nebula, whenever they wish.

 

New Process for Linking BSS Subscriptions to ConnectWise Agreement Additions

There is a new process for linking BSS subscriptions to Agreement Additions in ConnectWise. This involves:

  • Creating an agreement type per billing cycle in ConnectWise.

  • Updating the Synchronization Lookups in the BSS to correspond to the agreement type IDs.

  • Creating custom fields in ConnectWise to store the names and IDs of the BSS subscriptions.
    After completing this process, when a subscription is created in the BSS, the synchronization mechanism checks whether the account custom field contains an agreement ID. If it does, an addition is created under the agreement in ConnectWise, with the name and ID of the BSS subscription. The synchronization is then performed automatically by the interworks.cloud platform.
