Upgrade of Microsoft NCE Subscriptions with Billing Plans available in BSS

You can now fully(1) or partially(2) upgrade your NCE subscriptions having billing plans (installments) in BSS by using the generic upgrade flow that our platform supports. The current version allows you to upgrade to a higher plan by creating a new subscription.

  1. In the case of a full upgrade, a new billing plan is created inside the existing subscription and the old billing plan gets canceled.

  2. In the case of a partial upgrade, a new subscription with a new installment plan is created for the upgraded licenses while the existing Subscription experiences a quantity decrease along with a prorated refund that is calculated based on the upgraded licenses.

Some basic attributes for both types of upgrade are the following:

  • The upgrade paths between the NCE products are created automatically from the “Get Services Definition” process.

  • You can upgrade a subscription with immediate effect. However the billing terms change.

  • Whether seat reassignment will happen automatically depends on the customer's eligibility.

  • It is not possible to increase the quantity when upgrading. You may perform a full upgrade and increase the quantity afterward as a workaround.

  • The promotion of the original product will be lost. The promotion will be applied after the upgrade if the target product has a promotion.

To enable the upgrade functionality, you should run the “Get Services Definition” process for updating your system with the upgrade paths between the NCE plans.

In our following releases, we will enhance the upgrades functionality by introducing:

  • Upgrade to an existing subscription.

  • Ability to change the billing terms during the upgrade.

  • Schedule an upgrade action.

”Transaction Currency” Switch Available for Standard Edition Resellers' End Customers

With this release, end customers of Standard Edition resellers can utilize the Transaction Currency toggle switch, when viewing a Storefront published product, to check the converted price of one or more products. This switch essentially presents an approximation price based on the end customer’s transaction currency.

”Translation Tool” New Column for Standard Edition Resellers

A new feature for Standard Edition resellers is provided with this release concerning the available translations. On BSS Setup, inside the Translation Tool, a new column named Show in standard edition admin portal is added, which addresses only the Standard Reseller Admin menu since the BSS user is able to view and choose which translation they want to be displayed on the Admin menu.

Accessing Rights for the NCE Migration Tool in Storefront

From this release, the NCE Migration Tool can be directly accessed only by Storefront Admin users and Subscriptions Managers.

Redesigned Storefront Configuration Options

A redesign has been completed to the configuration options of Storefront, affecting the Rebranding and Staging tabs. More specifically:

  • Under the Rebranding tab, you can now choose between the two templates (Nebula & Basic) you would like to utilize. Also, the general rebranding features are better grouped (per template) and offer more customization options. This distinct grouping means that when the Nebula template is selected, only its respective options will appear and vice versa.

     

  • Under the Staging tab, the staging options are now shown in a more clear and friendly way.
