Managing your Currencies

Our platform supports having values for your products in multiple currencies. This page explains how you will define the available currencies and the currency culture preferences.
Activating a New Currency
To activate a new currency, you must do the following:
- Navigate to BSS Setup > Administration > System Options > Select Currencies
- Select the currency you wish from the Currency drop-down.
- Define its position. This is an integer for instructing the system in which position the currency tab will be displayed in the product's prices pop-up
- Press the sign
- Press Save
Setting Currency Options
For every currency that is activated, there is a currency culture that is applied automatically, and it is based on the default country of your organization (that you have defined in the setup, in the Organization Profile). Each currency culture has default preferences for the currency sign, the decimal/thousand separators, and also where the sign will be positioned for negative or positive amounts.
To change the default setting, you must click on the currency link in the currencies list.
This link will display the currency page for setting up the following. You must press the "Customize Locale" check box for the options to be loaded.
- Display Locale: This is the currency culture. By default, we apply the culture of the organization country, but it can be changed
- Currency Sign: A text field for setting the sign that will be displayed for this currency
- Decimal Separator: It is a drop-down field with options "dot" and "comma"
- Thousand Separator: It is a drop-down field with options "dot", "comma" and "space"
- Positive Numbers: A drop-down field for defining how the positive numbers are displayed.
- Negative Numbers: A drop-down field for defining how the negative numbers are displayed.
How the Amounts are Displayed to the BSS and Storefront Users
Storefront Anonymous User
When an anonymous user navigates to your Marketplace, the prices are displayed in the default currency of Storefront (the one that you have defined in the "Storefront Configuration" under the setup area), and the Culture settings are those that you have defined for this currency.
Storefront Logged in User
For the logged-in user, the prices are displayed on the currency you have defined for his account in your BSS, and the Culture settings for this currency will be used.
BSS User
Each BSS User can define in his profile which currency culture would like to use for any amount in BSS.
The selected culture will be applied to all amounts, even if they are for different currencies. This means that for a BSS user, our system ignores the culture settings you have defined per currency, and it applies always his preference.
For example, for a BSS user with en-USD culture, all invoice amounts will be displayed in the same format even if they are for different currencies.
