Language Pack Management

The interworks.cloud platform is a multi-language environment that supports many language packs out-of-the-box. Moreover, it can easily allow the customization of existing language packs and also the introduction of new language packs. The translation management tool facilitates both of these requirements!

Accessing the tool

To access the translation tool navigate to BSS Setup > Tools and select the Language Translation Management tool.

Amending an Existing Language Pack

It is very easy to make changes to entries within existing language packs. Here is how:

Making Ad-Hoc Changes to the UI

  1. Select the language from the list. The system will load the available definitions.

  2. Filter for entries displayed at the Storefront, or the Standard Edition admin portal.

  3. Locate the entry you want and click on the target translation column. Correct the definition or enter a new definition if the Storefront entry is new.

  4.  After you are done, click anywhere else on the display to commit the change.

Making Bulk Changes

If there is a need to make multiple changes, then you might want to use the import mechanism and save time!

  1.  Select the language from the list. The system will load the available definitions.

  2. Click on 'Export Localizations'.

An Excel file will be created and exported containing the source (English) and target (Selected) language definitions. Filter with the 'Is Storefront Enabled?' column to focus on Storefront entries. Update the 'Translation' column (column C) with the translations.

  3. To import the translations click on 'Import Localizations' and browse for the edited Excel file.

  4. Select the file with the updated translations and import it.

  5. Make sure the columns match the excel file columns.

    1. String Tag Name Column: The imported file column containing the unique Tag Name for each translation entry.

    2. 'English' Column: The imported file column containing the original language entry (for the system the default language is the English one).
    3. Translation Column: The imported file column containing the target translation entry.
    4. Translation Language:  Select the target language from the list.
    5. Show data from Excel: clicking this displays the contents of the file-to-import, for control reasons.

  6. Click the Import Data From Excel button to finalize the import step.

Importing a New Language Pack

If you want to import a new language pack for interworks.cloud platform then you only need to notify us so as to activate the new pack first. Then you can follow the previous process to import the new definitions.
