Bundles and Tenant Resellers

Tenant resellers are able to utilize Bundle Products since Bundles are transferred from the root organization during the creation of the Tenant's organization. Additionally, Tenant resellers can create their own Bundle products.

Bundle Products for Tenant Resellers

The procedure of making available the Bundle products to a Tenant reseller is the same as the one that is followed for the simple products and is named "Update Tenant Reseller". All that is required is first to add the Bundle products inside the Tenant's reseller price-list and then follow the previously mentioned procedure which can be found on the "Applying Distributor Updates" page.

Sub-Products in Price-List

At the root organization, the Bundle prices are calculated from the sub-products' prices and their selected pricing types at the Bundle. That is why the user is not able to edit the Bundle price via the edit recurring charges pop-up.
At the creation of the Tenant, the prices of the copied Bundle will be determined from the price-list, whereas the prices of its sub-products are calculated based on the ratio of how much (%) each sub-product participates in the price of the Bundle at the root organization. That is why the Tenant is not able to edit or change the Bundle's price but he is allowed to edit the base unit price of the Bundle via the "Edit Recurring Charges" pop-up window.
Concerning the independent products, these will be created at the Tenant's organization and are based on the applied price-rule from the root's price-list.

Extended example:

At the Root organization:
The following two sub-products are assigned to a Bundle product. A Microsoft product (A) which has a cost price of 5€ and a sell price of 10€  and also an Acronis product (B) with the same cost and sell prices. The Microsoft product at the Bundle has the price rule "currency amount" 9 and the Acronis at the bundle has the price rule "percent of sell price" 15%. So at the root organization, the Bundle's cost price is 5+5=10€ and the sell price is 9+(10*0.85)=17.5€.

Root Bundle Product Prices

Product AProduct BBundle
Sell price10€10€9 + (10*0.85) = 17.5€
Cost price5€5€5 + 5 = 10€
Pricing rule"currency amount"  = 9"percent of sell price" = 15%

The root's created price-list for the Tenant organization can be the following:
Price rule for the Bundle is "percent of sell price" 10% of 17.5=15.75€.

Price rule for the independent Microsoft (A) and Acronis (B) products is "percent of sell price" 5% of 10=9.5€ each.

Price-list rule"percent of sell price" 5% "percent of sell price" 5% "percent of sell price" 10%
Price-list price9.5€9.5€15.75€

As a result, the copied Bundle and independent products to the Tenant's organization will be:
The Bundle product will have a cost price of 15.75€ and a sell price of 17.5€.
The independent Microsoft (A) and Acronis (B) products will have both their cost prices set at 9.5€ and their sell prices set at 10€.

Once the Bundle product is copied, the sub-products' prices will be:
Since the sub-products' percentage of contribution to the total price of a Bundle is calculated at the root organization, the percent of each sub-product of the Bundle is the following. For Microsoft (A) is 9/17.5=0.51428 and for Acronis (B) is 8.5/17.5=0.485714.
So at the Tenant organization:
The cost price of the Microsoft sub-product (A) will have as "currency amount" the following 15.75€ * 0.51428=8.1€  and the Acronis sub-product (B) the following 15.75€ * 0.485714=7.65€.
The sell price of the Microsoft sub-product (A) will have as "currency amount" the following 17.5€ * 0.51428=9  and the Acronis sub-product (B) the following 17.5 * 0.485714=8.5€.
When both sub-products' cost prices are summed up (8.1€ + 7.65), their total cost price matches that of the Tenant's Bundle, which is 15.75€. Accordingly, their summed up sell prices (9€ + 8.5) also match that of the Tenant's Bundle, which is 17.5€.

Tenant's Bundle Products SECTION

In the "Products" section of the Tenant's Bundle, everything is hidden except for the quantity of the sub-product that participate in the Bundle as there is no value in displaying any button or any other information since the Tenant is not able to edit the pricing of the sub-products. The Tenant reseller is however allowed to edit the sell price of the whole Bundle via the "Edit" prices button.

Backordering for the Bundles' Subscriptions and their Sub-Subscriptions

The Backordering for the Bundle subscriptions and their sub-subscriptions is also functional. Following the Backordering activation of a Tenant, the Parent organization can get the Bundle subscriptions and the sub-subscriptions too. The Bundle subscription that is being created at the Parent organization through the Backordering, has the same ribbon as the simple subscriptions and the functionality is the same as the one analyzed on the page Copying Reseller Subscriptions in Distributor BSS.

Please note that all the fields of a Bundle subscription are being copied, even the custom fields, so that no information is wasted. Also, the provisioning status is displayed for the Bundle's sub-subscriptions on the Basic Information section. The Bundle subscription, as it was already mentioned above, has a "Subscription Characteristic" section where the Sub-products with their Characteristics are displayed. These characteristics are also copied and displayed at the Backordering Bundle subscription.

Below the Bundle subscription, a "Sub-Subscriptions" section is also present and contains the sub-subscriptions that are coming from the Backordering. The sub-subscriptions, in this case, are links that redirect the user to the sub-subscription view with the only difference being the backordering ribbon which is placed at the sub-subscription and above the sub-subscription's ribbon.
