Adobe Discontinued Products

This page explains what Adobe Discontinued products are and how they are handled across key platform processes, including ordering, migration, Reseller change, and subscription management.

What are Adobe Discontinued products?

Adobe Discontinued products are the products that are no longer available for new purchase from Adobe. However, if such products already exist in your Product Catalog, you may continue to renew and manage their subscriptions.

To identify them in the platform, the Catalog Status of such products is automatically updated to Discontinued after you run a Get Services Definition (GSD) action following their expiration date.

Examples of Adobe Discontinued products:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro for Enterprise

  • Creative Cloud for Enterprise All Apps

  • Illustrator for Enterprise

  • Lightroom with Classic for Enterprise

  • Photoshop for Enterprise

Procedures Overview

Due to their unique nature, Adobe Discontinued products are subject to special handling procedures related to ordering, migration, reseller changes, and subscription management. In particular, customers with a Three-Year Commitment (3YC) are granted additional options, which are outlined in the following sections.

The above mechanisms are triggered when the Catalog Status of an Adobe product is ‘Discontinued’.

Since the Catalog Status is updated through the Get Services Definition (GSD) process, ensure you run GSD after the product has expired to perform the above procedures smoothly.

Ordering Process

As mentioned above, Adobe Discontinued products are no longer available for new purchases, as they have expired.

Aligning with this vendor policy, our system automatically blocks the ordering of any item marked with a “Discontinued” Catalog Status.

This restriction is enforced across all platforms (BSS portal and the Marketplace) and applies to all product types (Adobe products and assets). 3YC Resellers are no exception to this rule.

If a user attempts to place an order for a Discontinued product, the system displays the following error message:

Discontinued Adobe products can still be renewed, which may cause pricing and sync issues with Adobe. To avoid these problems, Adobe has confirmed that end-of-billing-cycle cancellations for such products will not be rejected. Partners are strongly encouraged to schedule a cancellation at the end of their billing term.

Migration & Reseller Change

When a user wishes to transfer from VIP to VIP MP using the Adobe Migration Tool, or transfer a Reseller through the Reseller Change Tool, the system automatically detects products with catalog status Discontinued.

Depending on the Reseller, there are two possible scenarios:

  • If the Reseller is not enrolled in the Adobe three-year commitment (3YC) loyalty program, the Discontinued add-on price will be automatically set to zero (0).

  • If the Reseller is enrolled in the Adobe three-year commitment (3YC) loyalty program, the price will be retrieved from Adobe.

Quantity Changes

Depending on the Reseller, there are two possible scenarios regarding subscription quantity changes:

  • If the Reseller is not enrolled in the Adobe three-year commitment (3YC) loyalty program, Resellers are not allowed to increase the quantity of Adobe Discontinued products.

When a user attempts to increase the quantity of an Adobe Discontinued product, the system displays the following error message:

  • If the Reseller is enrolled in the Adobe three-year commitment (3YC) loyalty program, the quantity increase will be completed successfully.
