Enrolling in the Adobe Three-Year Commitment (3YC) Loyalty Program

This page explains all the relevant information you and your partners may need to manage the Adobe Three-Year Commitment (3YC) Subscriptions.

On July 2023, Adobe began supporting the Extended Subscription Term feature in the VIP MP program, which introduced the Three-Year Commitment (3YC) loyalty program that allows customers to get greater discount levels and locked prices for three annual terms by committing to a minimum quantity (min 10 licenses and/or 1,000 transactions), which should be purchased and maintained throughout the three-year commitment period. Additionally, they can buy extra licenses at heavily discounted prices and pay annually. The given discount prices refer to the minimum license and/or transaction quantity, which means that if a customer exceeds it, every additional seat will cost the same amount! If they want extra discounts, they need to accept a higher quantity of the 3YC commitment.

The enrollment of a customer to the 3YC loyalty program is a semi-automated process where the partner(reseller) initiates it through an existing Adobe subscription in the Storefront and BSS platform, and then the end customer has to first accept the commitment terms in the Adobe Admin Console to receive the expected discounts, in order to then proceed with the actual order of the committed minimum licenses and/or transactions.

Governing Rules of 3YC Feature

The following rules govern the functionality of the 3YC enrollment mechanism and the 3YC subscriptions.

  • The 3YC enrollment can be applied to the Adobe Sign products and the Adobe Teams/Enterprise products.

  • A successful enrolment request can be accepted within seven (7) days, and another seven (7) days from the acceptance date until the final order placement. Otherwise, it gets expired, and a new request can be created.

  • The end customers can be enrolled in the 3YC loyalty program for either a minimum quantity of licenses or consumables or both (By minimum quantity, we mean the licenses or consumables you currently have in the subscription. If you have, for example, 10 licenses from Adobe A and 15 from Adobe B, then the minimum quantity is 25). Additionally, if they enroll for one type (i.e., licenses) and there is no minimum quantity for the other type (i.e., consumables), the customers will not get any discount for that type (i.e., consumables). However, they can enroll in that type (i.e., consumables) at a later time, and their new request will be merged into one commitment with the same dates.

  • After successfully enrolling in the 3YC loyalty program and placing the respective order, the subscription must remain at the predefined minimum quantity limit for the whole three-year period. Therefore, the predefined minimum quantity can remain as is or be increased but never decreased.

  • Canceling a 3YC Adobe order afterwards is not possible because the end customer will drop below their minimum committed quantity, which effectively britches the commitment.

  • During subscription renewals, the quantity must stay at or above the 3YC committed quantity. Requests to reduce the renewal quantity below the committed quantity or deactivate the auto-renew functionality inside the committed period will be rejected.

Availability of 3YC Feature Depending on Customer Category

  1. For New Customers: The process can be initiated from both the Storefront and the BSS platforms either by creating and synchronizing a new account (via BSS) or by creating an order for a new account (via Storefront). Therefore, in the case of the creation of a new VIP MP customer from both our platforms, two 3YC fields are displayed (either inside the 3rd step of the checkout process in Storefront or under the Account Synchronization Options in BSS), in order to begin the enrollment process to the Adobe three-year commitment (3YC) loyalty program. The extra two fields must be filled in with the minimum license or transaction quantity or both. Lastly, these fields participate in the account synchronization process.

  2. For Existing VIP Customers: Existing VIP customers with active 3YC subscriptions can be transferred to the VIP MP channel and retain their 3YC commitment terms since there are no changes during the transfer. The actual migration process can be performed via our related tool called Adobe VIP MP Migration Tool, which is similar to the existing migration method.

  3. For Existing VIP MP Customers: The process can be initiated either from within the Storefront or from within the BSS platform from an existing Subscription.

    1. For Storefront: More specifically, the partner (reseller) can click on the I want to..., from within the Subscription view page, and select the option Adobe 3YC, to initiate the request process by filling in the minimum license or transaction quantity or both. The same option can display the status of the request once it has been dispatched while it also displays the status of the commit as well as the dates and the minimum quantities.

    2. For BSS: More specifically, the BSS user can click on the Adobe 3YC option, under the Shortcuts menu located inside the Subscription view page, to initiate the request process by filling in the minimum license or transaction quantity or both. The same option can display the status of the request once it has been dispatched while it also displays the status of the commit as well as the dates and the minimum quantities.

In the following examples, you can find an analysis of the possible statuses of the Adobe 3YC request and the commit, along with their meaning and overall flow.
