Ordering an Acronis Consumption Based Product

The ordering process for an Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud (ACPC) product is similar to processes that are pay-per-use (PPU), also known as consumption-based. The reseller or customer can select the ACPC product you have published in your Storefront or any other variation of that ACPC product.

Ordering Rules

Below is a list of rules that our platform applies for Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud product orders:

  1. MSPs can sell that product to their direct customers or the end-customers of their resellers.

  2. Acronis ACPC products can be ordered only with quantity = 1 since it is a pay-per-use product.

  3. Only one Acronis ACPC subscription is allowed per (service manager) instance.

  4. For an end-user to be created as an Acronis tenant during the provisioning process, Acronis requires a Role, a Username and an Email
NOTE: If your internal users are placing orders directly from BSS, they should check that they have defined a role, a username, and an email before proceeding with the order's execution.

  5. Acronis ACPC products can be purchased and billed in any currency.

Ordering from Storefront

When resellers or direct customers log in to your Storefront, they can purchase an Acronis ACPC product by adding it to the basket.

Then, they are being redirected to the Basket page prior to the first step of the ordering process, where an overview of the product is displayed.

In the basket page, under the section Product Settings, there are two main configurable categories for the chosen product. Those categories are the File Sync & Share Licensing Model and the Protection Licensing Model.

Under each of those two aforementioned categories, there is one required drop-down menus that on the Protection case defines the preferred Protection Licensing Model, whereas on the File Sync & Share case the required drop-down menu defines the preferred File Sync & Share Licensing Model. The values that appear as options inside both the drop-down menus are predefined, and are the following:

By defining the preferred Product Settings and proceeding, when the "Proceed to checkout" button is clicked, resellers and direct customers must agree to the compulsory Acronis Terms of Use located on the first step of the ordering process.

Afterwards, in the second step, the billing information is displayed for verification purposes.

By proceeding with the checkout, the service details step will appear if:

  • A reseller is ordering an Acronis ACPC product for the first time for a new end-customer
  • A direct customer is ordering an Acronis ACPC product for the first time

This step includes the necessary information for creating the customer as a new Acronis tenant.

  • Login Username:  It must be unique and be either in the form of a username (JohnDoe) or in the form of an email (johndoe@gmail.com).
  • Email: The email Acronis will send the activation email.

By clicking on the Checkout button, the Acronis ACPC product is provisioned to the reseller's end customer. By clicking the "Manage Your Service" button, the reseller is being redirected to the Acronis portal sign-in page.

The order is now completed. Upon the basket check out, the following process will be executed:

  1. Depending on the end consumer (either direct customer or end customer of a reseller) of the ordered Acronis service, the synchronization models are analyzed on the Creating Tenants in Acronis Management Portal page.
  2. A new PPU subscription will be created in BSS and its billing cycle will always be the calendar month.
