Billing Frequency in BSS
In this page you can find an analysis of the Billing Frequency, in the BSS platform.
Billing Frequency in BSS
When a BSS user creates an order via BSS for a Microsoft NCE product that offers the choice of a Billing Plan (if enabled), this selection is located inside the order under the order item edit page.
The installments are created when the order is executed and not before.
Viewing the Billing Plan of an Order in BSS
On every Microsoft order item, the Billing Plan column is visible on its view page, under the Products tab. It is a view-only column.
If the Billing Plan is Monthly, it means that the order item is purchased with installments, whereas when the Billing Plan column is empty, then it means that the order item is purchased with a one-off charge.
Viewing the Billing Plan of Subscriptions in BSS
On every Microsoft subscription, the Billing Plan is visible on its view page.
If the Billing Plan is Monthly, it means that the subscription is purchased with installments, whereas when the Billing Plan is empty (contains a dash), then it means that the subscription is purchased with a one-off charge.
Next to the Billing Plan value, a magnify icon () is visible, which on mouse-hover will display the Installment Plan summary pop-up window with the following information:
Installments: Is the total number of installments of the current installment plan.
Invoiced: Is the number of installments that have been invoiced for that plan.
Excluded: This field appears only when there are installments that are disregarded by our system since they have not been invoiced by BSS. If there are no disregarded installments, then the field is hidden.
Remaining: Is the number of installments that remain to be invoiced for that plan.
Next Invoice Date: Is the date that the upcoming invoice will be generated.
Next Invoice Amount: Is the amount of the next invoice.
The magnify icon () along with the Installment Plan summary pop-up window are not visible on Canceled subscriptions.
Editing the Pricing Info of a Subscription
On every Microsoft NCE subscription, :
With installments: The BSS user can edit the Pricing Information of that Billing Plan. These changes can either take effect on the current billing cycle or after the renewal of the billing cycle. The pricing depends on the latest prices that the system will fetch automatically for that subscription after its billing cycle renewal. Changes made for the current billing cycle will only affect the remaining installments.
Without installments: The BSS user can edit the Pricing Information of that Billing Plan. Those changes can become active either now on the current billing cycle or after the renewal of the subscription's billing cycle. The pricing remains the same for that (current) billing cycle, with no updates to the prices.
More specifically, the BSS user can click on the Edit Pricing Info button, to edit the pricing information of a subscription.
Depending on whether the NCE subscription is priced automatically by Microsoft’s external system or not and whether the subscription has installments or not, certain Pricing Info options can be either active or inactive. Therefore, different application rules apply for different subscription types (i.e., normal, price-protected, external pricing). For more information, please continue to the Changing the Pricing of a Subscription (old)archived page.
