"Custom MSP Pricelist" Field

On this page, you will find the analysis for the Custom MSP Pricelist field of the Acronis Service Manager for MSPs along with an analysis on how to create an Excel file to upload it to the aforementioned field in case you have received special (custom) prices from your Acronis distributor.

Cloud administrators now have the option to upload custom pricing from their Acronis distributors in the “Custom MSP Pricelist” field within each Acronis Service Manager MSP instance and utilize this custom pricelist for invoicing Acronis SKUs with these custom unit cost prices.

Locating the “Custom MSP Pricelist” Field

This field allows cloud administrators to choose between utilizing the uploaded “Custom MSP Pricelist” or the default Acronis Pricelist for invoicing. If a Custom MSP Pricelist Excel file is uploaded to the respective optional field, then the default Acronis pricelist in the Acronis Service Manager will only be used to retrieve prices for SKUs that are not included in the “Custom MSP Pricelist” Excel file.

There are two instances when Acronis Usage Prices are obtained from the default Acronis Pricelist instead of the "Custom MSP Price List":

  • 1: The "Custom MSP Price List" has not been uploaded to the Acronis instance.

  • 2: The "Custom MSP Price List" has been uploaded, but the SKU is not present in it.

Creating a “Custom MSP Pricelist“ Excel File

To create a Custom MSP Pricelist Excel file, you’ll need to enter all the custom prices in each spreadsheet tab designated for different currencies. In each tab, the first column (Column A) should be reserved for SKU codes, while the second column (Column B) should list the custom prices based on your tier number for that specific currency. Ensure you have a separate spreadsheet for each currency you are working with.

Please refer to the table below for rules and details on how to create the Custom MSP Pricelist Excel file.

Rules for Creating a Valid “Custom MSP Pricelist“ Excel File

The following rules must be met for an Acronis Excel file to be considered valid:

Rules

Condition

Extra Clarification Notes

Rules

Condition

Extra Clarification Notes

1- File Format

The file format should be an Excel file (.xlsx or .xls)

2- Excel File Tabs

  • Tab names must be limited to the supported currencies EUR, USD, AUD, GBP, JPY, or CAD. Also, the tab names are not case-sensitive, so they can be written in either lowercase or uppercase letters.

  • Only the tabs for the currencies being supported should be included.

    • An Excel file containing tabs with empty values will be considered invalid, and the appropriate error message will be displayed.

Each tab corresponds to a single currency, so the more currencies you want to include inside the Excel file, the more tabs you need to create for each currency that will contain the custom price values specific to that currency.

  1. Columns on Each Tab

Each Tab in the “Custom MSP Pricelist“ Excel file must contain at least the following 2 columns.
Additional columns may be added, but they will be ignored.

  • Column A: This column lists the SKUs that correspond to the custom prices in column B.

    • Expected Column Type = text (case insensitive, example → sqamsens or SQYAMSENS)

    • Expected Column Title/Name = The expected title for the first column must be “SKU” or “sku” since it is case insensitive.

    • Expected Column Values Per Row = The list of Acronis SKUs (one SKU per row).

  • Column B: This column lists the custom prices that correspond to the SKUs in column A.

    • Expected Column Type = number

    • Expected Column Title/Name = “Tier #“ or “Promo Tier“: The “#“ mark must be one of the following numbers of tiers (0 - 7), based on the corresponding “Commitment Tier“ in your Acronis instance:

      • Tier 0

      • Tier 1

      • Tier 2

      • Tier 3

      • Tier 4

      • Tier 5

      • Tier 6

      • Tier 7

      • Promo Tier

    • Expected Column Values Per Row = The custom prices (one custom price, with five decimal points, per row).

When the “Tier from Acronis” field is defined in your Acronis Service Manager MSP instance, the “Column B” should contain the corresponding name associated with the Tier returned by Acronis. For example, if your Acronis Tier is “Tier 2,” then that should also be the title of “Column B.”

The Excel file has the following format

You can also check the following example Excel file on how the “Custom MSP Pricelist“ should look without values:

Hybrid Storage Extra Charge(%)

The "Hybrid Storage Extra Charge(%)" DOES NOT APPLY when a "Custom MSP Pricelist" file is uploaded to the Acronis instance. Specifically:

  • Prices for Hybrid SKUs that are INCLUDED in the custom pricelist will be calculated using "Custom MSP Pricelist" file, ignoring the "Hybrid Storage Extra Charge(%)".

  • If a Hybrid SKU is NOT INCLUDED in the "Custom MSP Pricelist" and the "Hybrid Storage Extra Charge(%)" is greater than 0, the price will be retrieved from the default Acronis Pricelist, ignoring the "Hybrid Storage Extra Charge(%)"..

Uploading the “Custom MSP Pricelist” Excel File and Saving the Acronis Instance

When uploading the Custom MSP Pricelist Excel file to the respective field and saving the Acronis Service Manager MSP instance, the system performs a series of validations on the uploaded file, and if everything checks out, then the platform will utilize this custom pricelist to invoice the Acronis products that are included within that custom price list. Otherwise, the platform will display relevant error messages depending on the case, and until these errors are solved the system will continue utilizing the default Acronis Pricelist.

The table below outlines the execution flow of validations, illustrating the order in which each validation is conducted.
