Copying Reseller Customers in Distributor BSS

A customer is copied from reseller's BSS to distributor BSS when the first paid subscription is created for this customer in reseller's BSS.

Creation of Reseller Customer in Distributor BSS 


The account we create in distributor's BSS will have the following values:

  • Account Name, Accounting No and Email (). We Get get this information from the correspondent account in reseller's BSS. These fields are locked and they are updated automatically from reseller's BSS
  • Account Billing Address ()It will be copied from reseller's BSS but it will be locked and the distributor will not be allowed to change it. It will be updated automatically from reseller's BSS.
  • Enable Ordering option is set to true.
  • The account is defined as a sub customer of the reseller. The Bill To field will be the tenant reseller
  • Separate Invoices option. It will be used the value you have defined in tenant reseller details page
  • Responsible User. We set as responsible user of the created account the user defined for the account entity in "Use of API Options" section in setup area.
  • Sharing rule. For the new account, we apply the permission rule that has been defined for the account entity in "Use of API Options" section in setup area.
  • Account Synchronization Options (). If the end customer has been synchronized with a provisioning system in reseller's BSS, these sync options will be copied to distributor BSS but they will be locked.
  • Account Currency. When we copy the account in distributor's BSS, we ignore the currency in which the customer was created, and we are using the currency the tenant reseller has in distributor's BSS. 

For the distributor to easily understand that an account has been copied in his BSS from reseller's BSS, we display a ribbon with the note: “This account is managed by <RESELLER NAME> Tenant Reseller


What Actions are not Allowed to Distributor


Below is a list of the actions that the distributor is not allowed to execute:

  • Synchronize accountThe distributor is not allowed to synchronize the account with any provisioning system.
  • Delete account. The account cannot be deleted from distributor. It will be deleted only if the reseller deletes it from his BSS
  • Suspend  / reactivate Account. The account can only be suspended from the tenant reseller and the same action will be applied automatically to distributor BSS as well. In such cases, a history line of the form "Account's Status Changed to <status> due to changes on <tenant reseller>" will be added in account details page.
  • Create opportunities / offers / orders / subscriptions for this account. The distributor is not allowed to sell anything to this account. 

What Actions are Allowed to Distributor


Below is a list of action that the distributor is allowed to execute:

  • Edit Account. The distributor can edit the copied account but he cannot change any locked field. What he can do is to set values for any extra custom fields he may have setup for the account entity, change the responsible user etc.
  • Generate Invoices: The distributor can select this action for generating the invoices for this account
  • View pending invoices: The distributor can view the pending invoices for this account
  • Add Contact. The distributor can add a new contact for this account
  • Relate account with emails, tasks, events, documents, contacts and cases.
  • Create an invoice for this account that will be billed to tenant reseller
