Budget Alerts

A budget, will give the ability to the storefront users to plan service usage, service costs and reserved instance under-utilization.

With budgets you can:

• View If the current cost of the plan is reaching close to the cost budget or has exceeded it
• Define usage thresholds and compare your estimated usages with current usages 
• Check historical budgets for your plans and view the budget variance
• Receive alert for a Reserved instance budget, when the reserved instance is under-utilized

An alert threshold is a point on top of a budget that allows you to receive notifications upon a pre-defined assumption.

For example:

• If you have a crossover in a Usage Budget Alert threshold %
• If you have a crossover in a Cost Budget Alert threshold %
• If you under-utilize a Reserved instance upon a specific Alert threshold %
