Assign an AvaTax System Tax Code to a Product Type

When you set a tax code on a product type then all products that belong to this product type will be taxed with this tax code. |
- Go to Setup > Billing > Products > Product Types
- Select a Product Type to open the details screen
- On the Product Type details screen, enter the applicable AvaTax System Tax Code in the Avalara Tax Code field
- Tax Code defined on product type level is used for item for which Retrieve Tax Code from Product Type field is checked
- Click Save.
Assign an AvaTax System Tax Code to a Product
- Go to Billing > Products and select a product
- Click Edit
- On the Product details screen, uncheck Retrieve from Product Type field
- Enter the applicable AvaTax System Tax Code in the Avalara Tax Code field
- Click Save.
