Ordering Microsoft Perpetual License Products from BSS

The ordering process from BSS for Perpetual License products is similar to the process you are using for the Office 365 products.

On this page, we will explain the ordering process, but we will mainly focus on the differences and how our platform manages them. The main differences are the following:

  • Prices are calculated automatically based on the end customer’s country.

  • Qualifications are available depending on the countries defined in the Microsoft instance and the end customer's qualification eligibility.

    • Commercial Eligibility: All end customers can purchase Perpetual License products that have a commercial qualification. 

    • Non-Commercial Eligibility: Only end customers with certain non-commercial eligibility such as (Education, Non-profit, and Governmental) can purchase Perpetual License products that have the respective qualification. 

Adding a Perpetual License Product in an Order

You should first create an order for your customer or reseller in your BSS and then you can add as an order item the Perpetual License product you wish.

The price of the Perpetual License product will be derived from the options you will define in the order item form. No manual pricing is available since the cost and sell prices are automatically retrieved and assigned to the Perpetual License products. If your customer or reseller is linked with a price list that gives a discount for the selected Perpetual License product, our system will suggest to you to use this price list. 

Order Execution

When you have completed your order the next step is to execute it for the asset record to be created in your BSS and the provisioning to be executed to Microsoft systems.

For executing your order you should select the option "Execute Order" from the Shortcuts menu. In the pop-up form that will be displayed you should select options 2 or 3.

This action will:

  1. Create an asset record for each Perpetual License product you have in your order.

  2. It will provision the Perpetual License product in Microsoft systems.

  3. The invoice will be generated (if you selected option #3) for billing the Perpetual License product to your reseller or customer. If you selected option #2, the invoice will be generated the next time our billing service will run.

Downloading the Product and its License Keys

The BSS user is able to download the purchased software and obtain the license keys in the following ways:

  • By directly logging in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (office portal) and receiving them.

  • Resellers can log in to the Microsoft Partner Center and retrieve them from there, since they are also available for download from that point as well.
    (Indirect CSPs will require the help of a direct CSP to access the Partner Center, since indirect CSPs do not have access to license keys.)
