Excerpt
For the automatic provisioning of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud Services, we have implemented a service manager that handles the selling,  provisioning, and billing of the customer tenants under the MSPs.

Getting the Authentication Credentials for Activating the Integration

For activating the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration in interworks.cloud platform, you must have a partnership agreement with Acronis or an Acronis Distributor by enrolling in the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud Program.

As an Acronis MSP, you can get your own Acronis credentials (Client ID & Client Secret), which can be found inside the tenant's "Settings" section of the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud portal.
These are the credentials that you need in order to activate your own integration with Acronis in your own deployment of the interworks.cloud platform.
For more information concerning the Acronis credentials and the API management, you can download the following PDF file "Acronis_Management_Portal_Admin_Guide_en-US.pdf" and proceed to page #52, (section 7.3.3).

Activating the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud Integration in BSS

For activating the automatic provisioning of the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud application, you should do the following:

  1. Navigate to BSS Setup > Administration > System Options > Applications Setup and select the settings for the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud
    Image Modified

  2. Fill in the credentials form as indicated in the following screenshot:

    1. System Name: The preferred name of the application.
    2. Gateway URLThe URL varies depending on your geographical region and you will get it from Acronis along with your account credentials.
    3. Client Id: The provided Acronis Client ID.
    4. Client Secret: The provided Acronis Client Secret.
    5. Primary Currency: This drop-down menu is used to define the preferred instance currency from the available currencies that Acronis supports.
    6. Commitment Tier: This drop-down menu is used to define the tier that will be used for the MSP cost prices.
With this last setting, the MSPs are able to select the Tier to be either retrieved automatically from the Acronis portal (option: Tier from Acronisor select a specific Tier that will be used instead of the one that has been defined in the Acronis portal by default.
      • Tier from Acronis: This is the Acronis Commitment Tier that has been agreed upon between the MSP and the Distributor. Based on that Tier we are able to retrieve the cost prices of the products (SKUs) from the pricelist uploaded to our System.

      • All Other Acronis Commitment Tiers: If one of the Tiers below is selected, then the cost prices are retrieved based on that Tier regardless of the agreed Commitment Tier already defined in the Acronis portal.

        • Tier 0

        • Tier 1

        • Tier 2

        • Tier 3

        • Tier 4

        • Tier 5

        • Tier 6
        • Tier 7

Note #1: Changed Imposed on Tiers by Acronis After January, 2024

As of January 2024, Acronis has introduced two new Tiers in their offerings:

          • Tier 2 (with a new Commitment Amount of 500 USD)

          • Tier 7 (with a Commitment Amount of 25,000 USD)

Therefore, the change imposed by Acronis means that the existing Tier 2 up until the existing Tier 5 are now renamed to Tier 3 until the Tier 6.

          • The new Tier 2 is added inside the list of available tiers, having a new Commitment Amount of 500 USD
          • Existing Tier 2 renamed to new Tier 3, having the existing Commitment Amount 1000 USD

          • Existing Tier 3 renamed to new Tier 4, having the existing Commitment Amount 2000 USD

          • Existing Tier 4 renamed to new Tier 5, having the existing Commitment Amount 4000 USD

          • Existing Tier 5 renamed to new Tier 6, having the existing Commitment Amount 10000 USD

          • The new Tier 7 is added inside the list of available tiers, having a new Commitment Amount of 25000 USD

Therefore, each existing Tier (2-5) is essentially renamed (as Tier X +1) since they carry the same (existing) Commitment Amount.
However, since you (the MSP) define your Commitment Amount in the Acronis Instance, you will witness an automatic change of the value of the field Commitment Tier from your existing Tier X to the Tier X+1, i.e., from Tier 3 to Tier 4.
If the instance “System Name” contains the Tier number, it is advisable for you (the MSP) to update the name to avoid confusion.

Note #2: Acronis Imposed New Minimum Commitment Amount for Countries US, UK, Ireland and Australia Only for New Acronis Partners After January 2024

For New Acronis Partners in U.S , U.K , Ireland and Australia the minimum commitment is changed as described in the following table.

Existing Acronis Partners in these regions (US, UK Ireland, Australia) remain in the same Tier.
          Image Modified

          1. New Acronis MSPs in these countries (US, UK, Ireland, Australia) must NOT select “Tier 1” in instances “Commitment Tier" field, because according to the previous table they are not eligible for Tier 1.
          2. The eligible commitment for new Acronis MSPs is Tier 2 and above.
          3. Our Platform does not provide any checks to prevent new MSPs from choosing Tier 1 and the user is responsible to select the correct Acronis Commitment Tier
. Existing Acronis MSPs in the aforementioned countries and in other countries are not concerned by this change
          1. .

    7. Hybrid Storage Extra Charge: The value entered here allows the MSP to add an additional charge as a percentage of the price specified in the Acronis Pricelist.
  3. Save the form.

Validation with Acronis During the Form's Save
While the form is being Saved, a validation is running simultaneously to verify whether the distributor has enabled, in his Acronis Account, the "Management Portal" Application. If this application is not enabled, the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud integration form in BSS will not be saved. Rather, it will display at the center of the screen the following message "The following applications are not enabled in Acronis Platform: {Management Portal}. Please contact Acronis in order to enable them." promoting the reseller to contact Acronis in order to enable the application and then retry saving the BSS integration form.

Commitment Tier Change After the Creation of the Instance

MSPs can update their commitment tier level at any time due to business reasons, to retrieve the corresponding cost prices for use. This setting is synced back to the Acronis Billing System once per day.

Please Note: As of the billing event on the last day of a month, the Commitment Tier setting should not be changed the first two days and the last two days of a month so as to not interfere with the billing processes. However, decreasing the level of commitment should be aligned with a distributor agreement with Acronis and, in most cases, requires notice in advance. Moreover, the Commitment Tier setting is not inherited by child tenants.

Error Messages While Saving the Instance

    • If the MSP has no access to the Management Portal Application, the following message appears:

      • "The following applications are not enabled in Acronis Platform: Management Portal. Please contact Acronis in order to enable them."

    • If the MSP's credentials do not belong to an Acronis Partner Tenant, the following message appears:

      • "You are not a Partner Tenant in Acronis Platform. Please contact Acronis."

    • If there is no storage per service defined, the following message appears:

      • "Cloud storages have not been defined for services [Protection] and [File Sync & Share]. Please enable them in Acronis portal."

    • If only one storage per service is missing, then the following message appears:

      • "Cloud storages have not been defined for services [Protection]. Please enable them in Acronis portal."

Activating more than one Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud Instances

Our platform allows you to link your BSS with more than one Acronis distributor. This is the case if you are having more than one partner agreement with Acronis, for example, different agreements for different geographical areas.

For such scenarios, you will be able to link your BSS with your Acronis account by creating an instance for each account.

For this new instance, you should run the activation process described in the previous paragraph.

When you are having more than one Acronis instance, our system generates a different product type per instance. This means that your product manager should define a set of products that will be per instance.

Required Instances per Data Centers
If MSPs support more than one Data Centers, then one instance must be created for each different Data Center.
