interworks.cloud platform offers a straightforward facility to configure the PayPal payment gateway. After registering to PayPal you can proceed to setting up a test environment for checking the process and learning how to work with it. Then, just as easily, you can proceed with switching to "Live Mode" and getting ready to accept payments from your customers.

  6. On the next page, you should be looking at the newly created API Credentials of your PayPal account. This is sensitive information so please try not to share it.

  7. Now that we have the API Credentials we can move on to setting up the Payment Gateway in the BSS platform.

Enable PayPal as a Payment Method

Follow the steps below to configure PayPal Gateway in your BSS.

  1. In order to activate PayPal, navigate to Setup > Administration > System options > Payment Gateways and click Add.

  2. Expand the drop down list and select PayPal Express.

  3. A new pop-up screen will appear for you to setup the payment gateway:

    •  Username, PasswordSignature: The Credentials provided by PayPal. In order to get your credentials see the following instructions.
    • Live Mode: When you have finished testing the payment gateway in 'Test Mode', you can enable the checkbox 'Live Mode' to have the gateway fully functional for your customers.
    • Active: This checkbox is responsible for activating and deactivating this payment gateway.

After filling in all the required credentials and choosing either the Test mode or the Live mode, you can activate or deactivate the payment gateway but in any case you must click the Add Gateway button in order to proceed with the addition of this payment gateway.

How can I test PayPal?

If you want to test your PayPal gateway, have the Live Mode checkbox unchecked and use the Sandbox Credentials.

How to get your Sandbox credentials

  • Visit developer.paypal.com
  • Login to your Account
  • Go to Dashboard > Sandbox > Accounts
  • By default, PayPal will create 2 sandbox accounts. One Buyer and one Facilitator
  • Use the provided Credentials of the Facilitator Account to fill up the Gateway settings

Now that the PayPal gateway is activated in Cloud BSS, the last step is to create a payment method inside the BSS that will use your Gateway.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Administration > System Options > Payment Methods.
  2. Create a new payment method of Type Credit Card, with Zero Payment Days and PayPal Express as the selected Payment Gateway and set it to Active by enabling its corresponding checkbox.
  3. Lastly, click the (plus) icon to add it to the rest of your payment methods and then click the Save button in order to save the new payment method.

In order to provide this newly created payment option within your Storefront, you must access your account and click the Edit... button so as to change the Payment Method via the drop-down menu as exemplified below.
