In the Cloud BSS portal, you can change the pricing of a purchased asset. The options you can change are the asset’s price list/user-defined unit price/asset discount. The changes can be performed by selecting from the asset details page the action “Edit Pricing Info“.
The Edit Pricing Info action is currently available only for Microsoft ESD and Microsoft Perpetual (license-based) assets, not for reserved instance assets.
Change the Pricing of an Asset
When you click on the Edit Pricing Info option, the system will apply the changes immediately.
Moreover, the following business rules will be applied:
The customer can change the asset price by selecting a price list, or by providing either a new unit price or a discount. Specifically, :
Change of the Price List: If the edit was done by selecting a different Price List, then the asset will change its price based on the pricing of the Price List.
Change of the Unit Price: If the edit was done to the Unit Price field, then the asset will change its price based on that price which will be identified as "User Unit Price". (Please note that the User Unit Price supersedes the "User Discount Price" mentioned below.)
Change of the Discount percentage field: If the edit was done to the Discount percentage field, then the asset will change its price based on that price which will be identified as "User Discount Price". (Please note that the "User Discount Price" precedes the "User Unit Price" mentioned above.)
Option Unavailability
You will not be able to change the pricing of an asset, :
If there are pending invoices.
If the asset is under promotion.
The availability of the “Edit Pricing Info” button depends on the asset status and the provision sync status

Canceled
In the (forbidding) scenarios, where the button is available but the actual action will be locked, the following warning will be displayed:
For being able to proceed with editing the asset's pricing information, concerning only the case with the pending invoices, you need to generate manually the pending invoices first.
Conditional Instant Invoice Generation After Every "Edit Pricing Info" Action
Whenever the Edit Pricing Info action is completed for an asset, twonewinvoices will be generated automatically and instantly, one credit and one debit. This ensures that billing remains synchronized with real-time asset events.
After defining the changes, the BSS user has to click on the Save button for those changes to become effective immediately.
Historical Records After Editing Pricing Info of Assets
Whenever a BSS user edits and saves the pricing info of a license based asset, the proper log is recorded to the asset’s history. The effective date will always be the start date.
