Microsoft allows two or more indirect resellers to manage different Microsoft services for the same tenant. Our platform supports this scenario by allowing to have 2 sub-customers (that are billed to different resellers) to be linked with the same Microsoft tenant.
|
For achieving this, we removed the restriction that we had in previous editions of our platform to have a one-to-one relation between accounts and tenants. Each reseller will create his sub customers by following the process described for the new customers or for the existing Microsoft tenants.
A reseller will be able to place an order for an existing Microsoft tenant that is already managed from another reseller, by defining during the checkout process the tenant's domain prefix or primary domain. The process is the following:
For non Business plans, Microsoft in the partner center allows multiple subscriptions for the same plan for the same tenant. So, when two or more resellers purchase the same plan for the same tenant, our platform creates a new subscription in MS partner center that is related with reseller's MNP ID.
indirect Reseller | BSS sub customer | Microsoft Tenant | Microsoft Subscription |
---|---|---|---|
Reseller A (MPNID:999999) | sub customer A billed to reseller A |
both sub customers are linked with this tenant | Exchange Online Plan 1 x 5 monthly licenses related with mpnid:999999 |
sub Customer A billed to reseller A | Exchange Online Plan 1 x 10 yearly licenses related with mpnid:999999 | ||
Reseller B (MPNID:777777) | sub Customer B billed to reseller B | Exchange Online Plan 1 x 3 monthly licenses related with mpnid:777777 |
Since each BSS subscription is linked via the MS Subscription ID with the related subscription in Microsoft partner center, any action that will be performed for this subscription in our platform (quantity changes, addons additions, cancellation) will be applied to the related MS subscription.
For the Office 365 plans (Office 365 Business, Office 365 Business Essentials, Office 365 Business Premium etc), Microsoft allows only up to two subscriptions in partner center. So, when you have multiple resellers ordering business plans for the same Microsoft tenant we need to take into consideration this factor too. The rules that we apply for the ordering of O365 business plans are the following:
The rules described in this paragraph apply also to the rest Microsoft plans that have the restriction of up to two subscriptions in partner center |
Check the following flow of requests for understanding how these rules apply:
Action | Result |
---|---|
Reseller A places an order for 5 monthly Business Essentials licenses for tenant Globo Tech | A new monthly subscription (MS1) for 5 Business licenses is created in MS partner center for tenant Globo Tech related with reseller A |
Reseller A places a new order for 3 monthly Business Essentials licenses for tenant Globo Tech | The MS1 subscription is updated to have 8 license *if you haven't activated price protection for the Business Essential plan, our platform will create a second BSS subscription that will relate with MS1 subscription and it will still update its quantity to 8. |
Reseller B places a new order for 10 monthly Business Essentials licenses for tenant Globo Tech | A new monthly subscription (MS2) for 10 Business licenses is created in MS partner center for tenant Globo Tech related with reseller B |
Reseller B places a new order for 10 annual Business Essentials licenses for tenant Globo Tech | The order cannot be accepted since there are already two subscriptions in partner center for Globo Tech for the Business Essentials plan. The reseller will receive a warning that his order cannot be executed |
