A three-year commitment (3YC) Adobe subscription can be managed similarly to a non-3YC one.
Increasing & Decreasing Licenses or Transaction Quantities of a 3YC Subscription
A user can increase the number of licenses and cancel them immediately (inside the 14-day cancellation window) or at the end of the billing cycle. However, remember that the 3YC subscriptions must remain at the minimum quantity limit for the whole 3-year period (meaning the existing cycle and the upcoming 2 renewals). Canceling orders will be rejected if they would result in the customer dropping below their minimum committed quantity. Furthermore, subscription renewals must stay at or above the 3YC committed quantity. Requests to reduce the renewal quantity below the predefined minimum committed quantity will be rejected. Also, the deactivation of the auto-renew option inside the committed period will also be rejected.
Example: A customer accepts a 3YC request for 20 x licenses (committed amount).
They can increase the licenses from 20, for example, to 30.
They can cancel/decrease these additional 10 licenses (either immediately or at the end of the billing cycle).
The upcoming two renewals should be for at least 20 seats (committed amount).
Recommitment of a Three-Year Commitment (3YC) Subscription
The recommitment request, which is considered a new 3YC request, after the first 3-year period, can be submitted in the last 30 days of the active(previous) 3YC commitment period. The new recommitment request can be accepted before the end of the current 3YC term, but it will not go into effect until afterward.
Also, the recommitment request can not be requested alongside a commitment request or if the customer already has an existing commitment request.
Engaging in a Recommitment Request
Below, you can find the steps on how to enable and dispatch a recommitment request through the new 3YC window that is applicable to both the Storefront and the BSS platform.
A BSS or Storefront user can submit a recommitment request by enabling the toggle button called Renew 3YC.
After enabling it (image3 above), they can fill in the white boxes with the requested quantities and then click on the Submit button.
After that, the status of this recommitment request will change to Requested.
The end customer has to log in to their Adobe Admin Console to accept the recommitment 3YC request within the next 7 days.
Once the customer accepts the recommitment request, the status of it will change from Requested to Accepted, and the following message will be displayed.
The recommitment request is for another Three-Year-Commit agreement (additional 3 years) after the current commitment ends. The 3YC recommitment request will change from ACCEPTED to COMMITTED status at the beginning of the new cycle.
According to Adobe, the recommitment request can not be updated, which means that once you accept it, you can not send another one.
