FAQs

FAQ

Q: Will the confirmation of Microsoft Cloud Agreement work along with Microsoft Customer Agreement indefinitely?
A:
No, Microsoft will make Cloud Agreement obsolete and completely replace it with Customer Agreement after the 31st of January 2020, which means that you will only be able to confirm Customer Agreement and it will be a mandatory step to proceed placing orders for the end-customers.

Although, up until the 31st of January, if you have already confirmed the customer Cloud Agreement, you will be able to proceed and place orders for the end-customers and skip Customer Agreement altogether.

Q: I am an indirect CSP. How will I get from my reseller the acceptance of Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) when he places an order for a new customer?
A: The reseller must confirm that he has got the customer's acceptance while placing a new order for a new customer. In the "Service Details" step, the acceptance form will be displayed for confirming that the customer has accepted the latest Microsoft Customer Agreement. This form will include the info required by Microsoft (first name, last name, email, phone number, and agreement date).

Q: I am an indirect CSP. How will I get from my reseller the acceptance of MCA when he places an order for an existing customer?
A: For an existing customer of your reseller the process will be the following:

  • The customer is an existing customer of the reseller but he hasn't purchased any Microsoft product in the past (i.e his BSS account is not synced with MS partner center). In this scenario, the reseller must confirm that he has got the customer's acceptance in the "Service
Detaisl
  • Details" step (as described in the previous question).
  • The customer is an existing customer of the reseller and he has purchased a Microsoft product in the past (i.e his BSS account is synced with MS partner center). In this scenario, we will ask Microsoft (using their API) if they have received already an acceptance of MCA and if not we will ask from reseller to confirm the customer's acceptance.

Q: I am a direct CSP. How will I get from my customers the acceptance of MCA?
A: The customer will confirm that he accepts MCA during order checkout:

  • The customer hasn't purchased any Microsoft product in the past (i.e his BSS account is not synced with MS partner center). In this scenario the acceptance form will always be displayed before checkout completion for the customer to confirm that he has accepted the latest MCA, in the "Service Details" step.
  • The customer has purchased a Microsoft product in the past (i.e his BSS account is synced with MS partner center): In this scenario we will ask Microsoft (using their API) if they have received already an acceptance of MCA and if not we will ask from the customer to accept MCA before checkout completion in the "Service Details" step.

Q: How will a BSS user confirm that he has got the customer's acceptance when he places an order directly in BSS?
A:
When the BSS user executes an order our platform will do the following checks:

  • The order is for a customer that he hasn't purchased any Microsoft products in the past. We will ask during order execution the BSS user to confirm the acceptance.
  • The order is for a customer that he has purchased a Microsoft product in the past. We will ask Microsoft (via their API) if they have received already an acceptance of MCA and if not we will ask from the BSS user to confirm the customer's acceptance.

Note: The same process will be applied when the BSS user creates manually a subscription in BSS or modify a current subscription.

Q: How often my customer will be asked to confirm the acceptance of MCA?
A:
He will need to give his confirmation only once, the first time that he will place a Microsoft order. For the subsequent orders, our system will get from Microsoft an affirmative response that they already have his confirmation and the checkout process will be continued without any interruption.

Q: How is the Acceptance of MCA kept in interworks.cloud platform?
A: Every time a customer, a reseller or a BSS user confirms the acceptance of MCA, a log record will be created in our platform similar

with

to the logs we keep for the personal data consent. In these log records, we will keep details regarding the user that confirmed the acceptance and also the information filled in the acceptance form. These logs will be accessible from BSS setup area.

Q: The data of the acceptance form are stored in the platform?
A: These data are stored separately only in the log records we keep for each acceptance for historical reasons. The data we keep for your customers (i.e. the account and contact records in your BSS) are not updated or modified by the information entered in the acceptance form.

Q: If a customer is managed by two resellers, is it necessary for each reseller to confirm the acceptance of Microsoft Customer Agreement?
A: Microsoft requires the confirmation of the acceptance by the CSP. So, if you are an indirect CSP and you have two resellers offering services to the same customer, it is sufficient only one of them to confirm the acceptance. After we receive the confirmation from the first reseller, any other order that will be placed for this customer from any of the two resellers will be executed automatically since the acceptance has already been registered in Microsoft's partner center.

Q: How will my white label resellers get customer's acceptance?
A: The same functionality you are having as CSP will be also available to your white label resellers. The indirect resellers will have their customers to accept MCA during order checkout and their BSS users to confirm customer's acceptance during order execution.

Q: Will the subscriptions of my existing customers be renewed successfully if I haven't received customer's acceptance?
A: Microsoft clearly states in their MCA FAQ & here that the acceptance of the MCA must be confirmed when CSP partners want to make the following transactions: 1) A new customer completes new purchases 2) An existing customer completes new purchases 3) An existing customer updates seat count to existing subscriptions.

Q: By confirming customer's acceptance are we fully compliant with Microsoft requirements?
A: Our platform facilitates your customers, resellers or your internal users to confirm that the customer has accepted the terms. But should Microsoft requires proof of the acceptance, it is your responsibility (or of your resellers, if you are

a

an indirect CSP) to deliver this proof to Microsoft.

The log record we keep is sufficient for proving to Microsoft that you have received customer's acceptance of MCA for the following cases:

  • You are a direct CSP and the confirmation has been given directly by the customer himself during order checkout.
  • Your reseller is a white label reseller and his customer has confirmed the acceptance of MCA when he placed the order in reseller's Marketplace.
