Cancellation Requests Scheduled for the End of the Current Billing Period

Your customers can now request a cancellation scheduled at the end of the current billing period. Your customers now have two options available for canceling a subscription and/or an add-on in the Storefront.

  • Immediate cancellation. This cancellation option is essentially the immediate cancellation execution of a subscription and/or an add-on. This is what was supported until this version.

  • End of the current Billing Period“ cancellation. This cancellation option is essentially a form of a scheduled cancellation that will be actualized at the end of the current billing period of either a subscription or an add-on.

The new “End of Billing Period” cancellation option is available for:

  1. Subscription cancellation

  2. Add-on cancellation

  3. Add-on licenses cancellation (i.e., cancellation of a number of the add-on licenses)

This new option is not yet available for partial cancellation of the subscription (i.e., to cancel subscription licenses) since it will be included in the 3.28.19 release.

This option is available for both automatic, and not-automatic cancellation flows. For more details, check please Cancellations submitted by your Customers - Automatic Flow and Cancellations submitted by your Customers - Non-Automatic Flow.

Add-on Updates can be Scheduled on Subscription Renewal

You can now schedule the following actions to be executed on subscription renewal (i.e., at the end of the billing period):

  • Add-on cancellation

  • Increase add-on’s quantity

  • Decrease add-ons quantity

This option is available in BSS when changing the quantity of an add-on, or when you decide to cancel an add-on. Such action creates a pending quantity change request that can be revoked at any time by the BSS user until the end of the current billing cycle.

For more details, please check Cancellation of Add-on Licenses from BSS and Cancelling an Add-on in BSS.

We will enforce the same approach for subscription quantity changes from version 3.28.19

Cancellation of Microsoft Software Subscription Licenses

Cancellation of a Software License asset is feasible if requested within 60 days after the purchase date and a full refund is available within that period of time. Our platform complies with Microsoft’s policy, and from this release, we have introduced the following cancellation workflow:

  1. Your customers and resellers can request to cancel a Software license from your Storefront. No automatic execution is supported, but you will receive a cancellation request from completing it from your BSS.

  2. When a Software subscription is canceled from BSS, the request is submitted to Microsoft by calling the appropriate API.

  3. If Microsoft responds that the Software Subscription license cannot be canceled, our system aborts the cancellation process.

  4. If Microsoft accepts the cancellation, we will cancel the software license, and the customer will get a full refund (a credit invoice is generated).

The “Software ID” field is now available for the Microsoft Software Subscription Licenses

Microsoft’s Subscription ID is now available in our system as the value of the “Software ID” field.
