In this page you can find an analysis of the Billing Frequency, in Storefront.

Billing Frequency in Storefront

Once a Storefront user lands on the Add to Basket page with any Microsoft NCE product, and the chosen unit is 12 months or more, a new option named Billing Plan appears (if enabled) beside the name of the selected product. Here, the Storefront user can choose the Billing Frequency in installments that they wish to pay with this product. In this example, the user has selected to pay with installments of 12 equal monthly payments instead of paying the full annual product price all at once.

Appearence of “Billing Plan” Option

Products or Units that do not have a Billing Plan will not display the Billing Plan column.

Once the Proceed to checkout button is clicked, the Storefront user lands on the My Basket page, where the first payment amount in a banner under the order item shows the first invoice amount. At the same time, it informs the user of the use of installments along with their number.

The section below also contains the number of installments, as well as the installment amount.

When the Storefront user has selected for whom this order item is for and clicks on the Checkout button, the checkout process continues normally without displaying any other Billing Frequency elements.

Credit Limit Availability Check

Inside the Basket Items step of the checkout process, the check of Credit Limit availability (for orders purchased with installments) is done against the full amount of the order and not the first payment amount.

Once the checkout process is completed, only the first installment is charged, and that is also evident from the first invoice.

Additionally, all the subscriptions that have been purchased with a Billing Plan (installments), can be seen on the Storefront subscription list page since a new column, named Billing Plan, has been added to display the Billing Plan of each subscription, as depicted by the following screenshot.

  • As you can witness, the Buy Licenses option is available even for subscriptions that are bought with installments. Likewise, the partial cancellation (reduction in licenses) is also available. However, the partial cancellation of licenses from a subscription with installments can be done by utilizing only the immediate execution type, as illustrated in the below screenshot.

Additionally, by clicking on the Excel icon in the upper-right part of the screen, you can witness on the exported XLS file that the Subscription list also has the Billing Plan column.

Viewing the Billing Plan of an Order in Storefront

On every Microsoft order item, the Billing Plan column is visible on its view page. It is a view-only column.

If the Billing Plan is Monthly, it means that the order item is purchased with installments, whereas when the Billing Plan is empty (contains a dash), then it means that the order item is purchased with a one-off charge.

Viewing the Billing Plan of Subscriptions in Storefront

Under the Subscriptions List view page the Billing Plan column is visible and it displays the Billing Plans that each subscription has. More specifically:

If the Billing Plan is Monthly, it means that the subscription is purchased with installments whereas when the Billing Plan is empty (contains a dash), then it means that the subscription is purchased with a one-off charge.

Viewing the Billing Plan Extra Charge in Storefront

On every Microsoft order and subscription in Storefront, the Billing Plan Extra Charge is applied on the respective view page once the Billing Plan is enabled and the Extra Charge is configured by the distributor.

Before selecting the Billing Plan the price is normal without any Extra Charge fees but once a Billing Plan is selected, the account’s Extra Charge applies and all the prices are raised accordingly.

All prices have the Extra Charge markup applied.

All prices have the Extra Charge markup applied (and the VAT of course).
