Q: How many steps do

I have to complete while importing Products?
A:
You will need to fulfill 3 steps while importing products.

  1. Uploading of the actual excel files that include the products
  2. Mapping of the Product fields
  3. Other Permissions & Confirmation of the product import


Q: What if my Products are in a specific sheet in the excel file?
A: You will be able to choose the precise excel sheet with a dropdown list after you select the excel file

I try to import products using different currency field from my organization's?
A: If you try to import products that have different currency fields from the default currency of the organization,

then you will receive errors and the products will not be imported.


Q: Can i upload products with a specific Product type?
A: Yes, in step 2 of the import process you have the ability to choose from a dropdown between all organization's product types.


Q: Can i upload products that have different product types?
A: You can only import products with different product types only if the product types don't have properties. If the product types have properties, then you will have to import these products in separate excel files, as the distinct product types.


Q: What are the available pricing types?
A: The available pricing types are One-time charge, Recurring charge (prepaid), and Recurring charge (pay-per-use) and can be defined in step 1 of the import process.


Q: Are Step 2 options affected by Step 1?
A: Yes. Step 2 options will be directly affected by the choices you make

in step 1. For example, should you choose One Time charge as pricing type in step one, you will only view Sell and Cost price in step 2.


Q: Which are the product fields that i need to match in the excel file?
A: The product fields in detail are:

  • Product details (The generic product fields)
    • Product Code - SKU (compulsory)
    • Product Name
    • Product Category (optional) - Use this field for defining in which product catalog category the product belongs
    • Status (optional) - It can be active or inactive. If empty, active by default
    • Industry (optional) - This field can have various values. These values should be separated by semicolon in the same cell ';'
    • Unit of measure (optional)
    • Is taxable (optional) - true by default
    • Price group (optional) - when adding a product in a price group, you can easily relate it with a pricelist
    • Avalara fields (Avalara Tax Code, Retrieve from Product Type)
    • Is Addon (compulsory) - When the "one-time" charge is selected in step 1, this field is hidden
  • Product Type Details
    • Product Type (optional) - This field will be available if you

  • Pricing details (This set of fields is for defining how the product is billed. The set of fields change depending on what you have selected in step 1 for the pricing type field)
