Excerpt
The ordering process for the Azure product is similar with to the process the customers follow for the Office 365 products. The only difference is that the customer is not billed upfront but in arrears based on consumption.

Ordering from Storefront

When a customer/reseller logs in CSP's Storefront he can purchase an Azure subscription by adding it in his basket.  Before placing the order, he will be able to estimate the cost of the resources he wants by using the embedded calculator we have in the Azure details page.

Embedded Pricing calculator

The embedded calculator we have implemented includes all available Azure modules and resources. It is accessible from inside Azure product details page in Resources Pricing tab. This calculator is loaded dynamically and this means that every price amendment from Microsoft are immediately visible to our calculator.

The calculator displays Microsoft's ERP prices but especially for the reseller it displays the price he will buy after applying the discount you have set for him (check Set discounts for your resellers for more info)

In which currency the prices are displayed in Azure Calculator?

Our inline calculator supports the currencies Microsoft supports. If the currency of the Storefront user is supported by Microsoft, the prices are displayed in this currency. Otherwise, they will be displayed in Storefront default currency. If neither the Storefront currency is supported, the prices will be displayed in the currency Microsoft bills the CSP.

Adding Azure Product in the Basket

By selecting the Add to Basket action from Azure details page, the product will be added in the basket, but the basket total will be 0.00€ since the Azure subscription is charged based on usage.

Upon basket check out, the following process will be executed:

  • Create the customer as a Microsoft tenant if this is the first time he purchases an MS cloud service.

    Creation of the Microsoft Tenant

For provisioning an Azure subscription to the customer, the customer must be created as a tenant in CSP's partner center. The process is exactly the same regardless if you purchase and Office 365 or an Azure subscription. Our system will create the Microsoft tenant the first time the customer purchases an Office 365 or Azure subscription.

  • Provision the MS Azure subscription to the MS tenant
  • Apply the contributor role to the tenant admin user in order to be able to login to Azure Portal and start using resources
  • Create a pay-per-use subscription in Cloud BSS that will be used for receiving the usage data.

Ordering from Cloud BSS

An account manager can purchase an Azure Subscription on behalf of his customers by placing an order for the Azure product in Cloud BSS. The ordering process is exactly the same as for the rest Office 365 products.

Upon creation of the order, the account manager must execute the order for the system to:

  • Provision the MS Azure subscription to the MS tenant
  • Apply the contributor role to the tenant admin user in order to be able to login to Azure Portal and start using resources
  • Create a pay-per-use subscription in Cloud BSS that will be used for receiving the usage data.

Make sure that the customer has already been created as a tenant in your partner center before executing the order. Check the Provisioning Sync Status in the account details page.
